The Weight of Silence

I’m drawn to quiet scenes, the ones that feel complete without trying to say too much.

This image came from a moment of stillness. A fallen branch resting under snow, suspended in calm water. Everything feels paused. There’s no movement, no urgency, just balance.

Winter is often seen as empty or cold, but here it feels gentle. The snow softens the shape, the water holds it in place, and the surrounding space allows the image to breathe. It’s less about the subject and more about the feeling it leaves behind.

I chose a museum-quality archival matte paper with a natural off-white tone to keep the image soft and timeless. The paper preserves subtle textures and quiet contrast without glare, letting the scene remain calm and natural over time.
